Privacy Policy

This policy is not final — owner review required

The sections below describe what this website and product actually do today, and are accurate to the best of our knowledge. The following points are entity- and jurisdiction-specific and have deliberately been left unanswered rather than guessed:

  • The registered legal entity and business address behind "Laminar".
  • The governing jurisdiction and applicable data-protection regime (UK GDPR, EU GDPR, CCPA, or a combination).
  • Concrete retention periods for customer and driver records held in the product.
  • Whether a Data Processing Agreement is offered to customers, and on what terms.
  • The full list of sub-processors used by the product (hosting, email, error reporting).

Scope

This is Laminar's only privacy policy. It covers this website (go-laminar.com) and the Laminar product: the manager web platform, the manager mobile apps for iOS and Android, and the driver mobile apps for iOS and Android.

The apps and the web platform link to this page rather than keeping their own copy of it, so there is one text to read and one text to keep accurate.

The product: who controls the data

Laminar is multi-tenant software sold to fleet operators. When a customer uses Laminar to manage their fleet, the records in it — driver details, shift and punch records, vehicle inspections, expenses, and related operational data — belong to that customer. The customer decides what is collected and why; Laminar processes it on their behalf in order to provide the service.

In data-protection terms: your employer is the controller, and Laminar is their processor. Your employer decides what data is collected about you at work, how long it is kept, and who at the company can see it. We don't decide what happens to it, and we don't use it for our own purposes. Requests to correct or erase your records go to your employer first; we act on what they tell us. If they need our help to answer you, we will provide it.

This website: what we collect

This site is static. It has no accounts, no login, no comment system, and no advertising or marketing trackers.

  • No cookies. This site sets no cookies of its own, which is why you aren't being shown a cookie banner.
  • Analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not fingerprint or track visitors across sites. It reports aggregate page views, referrers, and general location and device categories. It does not build a profile of you.
  • Hosting logs. The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes request data (including IP address) to deliver pages and protect against abuse.
  • Email you send us. If you email the address on our contact page, we hold that message and your address in order to reply. There is no contact form, so nothing is collected from you unless you choose to write.

The product: what the apps and the web platform collect

  • Account details: your email address, display name, and the employee ID your employer assigned you.
  • Shift records: punch in/out times, the van you were assigned each day, odometer readings, and the delivery counts you enter.
  • Location: your device's approximate position while you are punched in for a shift. It is not collected before you punch in or after you punch out.
  • Photos: the vehicle inspection photos you take in the app, along with the van, date, and slot each one belongs to.
  • Pay and expense records your employer logs against you, including advances and reimbursements.
  • Device details needed to deliver push notifications, and the messages sent to you in the app.

Who can see it

Managers and admins at your own organization can see your records. Nobody at another organization can — accounts are separated per organization on the server. Laminar staff can access data only to operate and support the service. Your data is never sold, and it is not used for advertising.

Services we rely on (sub-processors)

  • Google Firebase — sign-in and push notifications.
  • Google Cloud — hosting for the Laminar API and storage for inspection photos.
  • OpenStreetMap — the map images your manager sees, and city lookups when a station is set up. Neither request carries your name or your account.
  • Cloudflare — hosting and cookieless analytics for this website, as described above.

Each one processes data only to provide that service to us, not for their own purposes. The complete sub-processor list is one of the points still under review above.

Where data is stored

Product data — the API database and inspection photos — is stored in Canada. There is one exception: sign-in is handled by Firebase Authentication, which stores its user records (your email address and the credentials it holds for you) in the United States. Everything else stays in the Canadian region.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell personal data.
  • We don't share customer data between tenants.
  • We don't run advertising networks, retargeting pixels, or cross-site tracking on this website.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete personal data held about you, and to object to certain processing.

  • Access and export. Use Download my data in the app, or in Edit profile on the web platform, to get a copy of the records held against your account — your membership, assignments, punches, locations, expenses, and inspection photo entries. Photo files themselves aren't included, only their details.
  • Correction. Ask your manager or an admin at your organization to fix incorrect details.
  • Deletion. Your employer controls these records, so deletion requests go through them rather than through Laminar. Some records — pay and expenses in particular — must be kept for a set period by law, so they can't always be erased on request.

To ask anything about this policy, email hello@go-laminar.com. For data held inside a customer's Laminar tenant, we will route your request to that customer, who controls it. The precise rights that apply to you depend on the governing jurisdiction, which is one of the points still under review above.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
